The presidency condemned former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s defense against members of the Legion, Ushie Uguamaye, known as Raye, who called President Bola Tinubu horrible.

Naija News The former presidential candidate of the former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is supported by Raye, the report said. He further described Raye as a brilliant symbol of Nigerian youth.

“I deeply admire her boldness and wisdom—her fearless determination to speak the truth without the weight of opposition,” it reads in part.

Respond to the telephone response of Atiku, Senior Special Assistant to the President, Temitope Backupon his Facebook handle, said Sunday that the former vice president’s support for Raye was bad politics.

He wrote:A former vice president of a country and perennial presidential contestant may have served as president at the age of 80 within two years now and should not see Legion members violating the code of conduct support and celebrate bad conduct and interdisciplinary discipline.

“It’s not a matter of freedom of speech and right to express. NYSC is a regular service with a strict code of conduct.

“The armed forces, police, paramilitary agencies and civil servants are citizens with freedom of expression and freedom of expression, but their participation rules prohibit them from publicly opposing the government.

“Anyone who wants to be a bias should be prepared to face the consequences. For the former vice president of Nigeria, it’s bad politics – no matter how convenient it is, any kind of bad behavior can be recognized.”
