
The gunman kidnapped seven people, including two senior officials along the OMU-ARAN/ILORIN ROAD.
The victim was identified as barrister Elizabeth Arinde, who is the head of the local government legal department of Oke-Ore and was unable to confirm the head of personnel management of the council. On Friday, April 25, 2025, Corner Eleyin along Omu-Aran/Ilorin Expressway, kidnapped his name.
The incident occurred around 5:45 p.m. and involved five gunmen who ambushed two private vehicles before leading passengers into the bush.
Kwara State Police spokesman SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the incident on Saturday.
“The Kuala State Police Department confirmed that it was reported through Isanlu-Isin at Eleyin Village on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 5:45 pm. According to reports, about five armed personnel blocked the highway, stopped two private vehicles, and forced all crew members to an unknown location,” the statement said. ”
“After the report, the command conducted quick action in collaboration with military and vigilant, resulting in the successful rescue of two victims, Ganiyu Ajayi and Kolawole Adeyemi.
“Works are being made to save the remaining five victims and arrest the perpetrators.
“The headquarters has strengthened security measures throughout the region, including active bush, strategic patrols and intelligence-driven operations to prevent further occurrences
“We assure the public that strong strategies are being developed to address criminal activities and protect lives and property across the state.
“Residents are urged to remain calm, alert and support by providing timely and trustworthy information to security agencies. Further updates will be provided as needed.”
