The UK’s Heathrow Airport Airport announced that it was fully operational, the second day after the power station fire caused a travel chaos.
The electricity substation fire was said to have eliminated electricity at London airports and shut down power for most of the weekend.
According to the gathering, the closures affected thousands of passengers around the world and raised serious questions about the reliability of one of the UK’s most critical infrastructure.
“We can confirm that Heathrow Airport is open and fully operational today.
“The entire airport team continues to do everything possible to support passengers affected by the power outage yesterday at the non-airport power substation,” an airport spokesman said Saturday night.
The impact of Friday’s closure was about 1,350 flights, according to data from the Flightradar24 tracking website.
It was reported that the closure of about 120 Heathrow aircraft had to be transferred.
