Olena residents are a community in the ASA of Otukpo State, Benue State Local Government Area, which has abandoned their homes after multiple attacks by suspected herders.
The village has been reportedly subjected to ruthless attacks over the past four days, resulting in several deaths and many kidnappings.
A resident who spoke with the Daily Mail revealed that villagers were forced to flee after realizing that there was no external help coming.
“I’m currently in UPU. I’ve escaped with my family tonight. Currently, we’ve all freed up our community. Olina has been attacked for several days,He said.
“They killed and kidnapped several people. We have been asking for help but no security personnel are coming to rescue. Tonight, I could hardly escape my life and my family.
“Olina was seriously attacked while we were talking,” he added.
The video clips obtained by the above-mentioned platform show residents running for safety under the dark cover panic as the attack on the community.
