NotJustok’s Afrobeats Power Ranking is a systematic, data-driven framework designed to evaluate and rank the most influential Afrobeats Artists Artly.

The ranking integrates multiple quantitative and qualitative metrics including streaming performance, social media engagement, and the impact of recent releases to comprehensively evaluate artist influence in the genre.

A few weeks ago, when we posted the January AfroBeats Power Ranking on our social media page, many people had questions about how we got this data. Now it is:

    Core indicators in ranking process

Ranking is built using the following key data points:

    1. Global traffic: An artist achieves a global stream count this month as a major indicator of coverage and popularity.

    2. Recent Publishing Events: Focus on music released within the first 30 days, including singles, EPs and albums, to reflect the current market momentum.

    3. Social Media Engagement: Analyze metrics that capture online interactions, fan-generated content and audience activity to evaluate the artist’s digital footprint.

    4. Broadcasting and retail data: Performance data from over 2,000 radio stations and 550 retail providers were consolidated to assess the wider industry impact.

    Data acquisition and verification

The data comes directly from major digital streaming platforms (DSPs), such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Audiomack. To ensure accuracy and transparency, NotJustok leverages Luminate, an independent third-party data provider that aggregates and validates streaming and performance statistics. To maintain time correlation, priority will be published within the evaluation month.

    Afrobeats power ranking calculation process

In the monthly cycle, comprehensive data about Afrobeats artists is being collected and processed (covering global streaming digital and new version performance). These inputs are synthesized using a proprietary point-based algorithm that generates the final 50 rankings for the period.

By utilizing real-time analysis and validating data sources, NotJustok’s Afrobeats Power rankings enable objective and reliable measurement of major artists in this genre. This approach ensures that ranking influence in the Afrobeats ecosystem remains a reliable and authoritative representative.

Where is the full list of NotJustok’s Afrobeats power ranking?

Every month, we publish the top ten artists in Afrobeats Power rankings in the full list published here.
