Guinness World Record holder and food influencer Hilda Baci received the huge pot she will use to cook for the cooking expected to be the world’s largest Jorov rice jar.
This huge red pot, which can accommodate 22,619 liters, was made in Gebagada and will be delivered overnight to the event’s venue, Eko Hotel, Lagos. Videos circulating online show pots with “Gino” and delivered under strict supervision.
Hilda confirmed its arrival in an Instagram post, saying: “At 4 am this morning, our pots were safely shipped from Gbagada to the Eko Hotel where the event was happening.
She had earlier explained that the project would require 250 bags of rice, about 5278 kg of raw basmati rice, with the goal of filling the pot to about 75-80% of its capacity.
The cooking will also include 1,583 kg of tomato sauce, divided into tomato sauce, pepper chicken paste and jollof sauce to create what she calls “the most delicious, largest, largest Nigerian Jolov rice ever.”
Hilda Baci became famous in 2023 after breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon in the Gelness World Record. Under this new challenge, her goal is to make history again while celebrating Nigerian food culture.
Excitement has been established in Lagos, and many residents and fans online say they can “cut” once cooking begins.
Tagged as #ginoworldjolloffestwithhildabaci, the event will welcome thousands of food lovers and hopefully unveil Nigeria’s rich culinary heritage on the global stage.
