A 30-year-old man, identified as Mr. Stephen, took his life from the wife of Ikumi Shako Ward in Gulala Local Government Area, Niger State.
Residents in the area said the deceased lost his second wife in March 2025 and has been battling severe depression ever since. Close friends and family revealed that he often expressed that he could not live without her.
According to a gathering, on Thursday morning, neighbors noticed Stephen holding a hunting gun, but were unsure of his intentions. A few hours later, his lifeless body was found in a secluded area with a gunshot wound to the head and a weapon in his hand.
Sources also revealed that Stephen’s first wife was still alive and he left behind two children.
