The Deputy Governor and Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, was confirmed dead after he collapsed in the early afternoon of December 11.
He allegedly collapsed in the office around 1:30 pm and was later taken to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Yenagoa, where he was confirmed dead.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo was born on September 5, 1965 and died at the age of 60.
Pioneer newspaper reported that the deputy governor fell ill and suffered serious injuries before being taken to the hospital emergency room, where he was now confirmed dead.
Sources said that he had been working overtime and had a strict work schedule, and described him as a “workaholic” who rarely had time to rest.
