A traditional ruler in Lagos claimed that officials from the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCS) helped Crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, renamed Bobrisky to ensure he received VIP treatment while he was in prison.
Baale of the chief of Kirikiri Town, Babalola Shabi, is known as “Balo Nothing”, saying Bobrisky smuggled eight ATM cards into Kirikiri hosting facilities and traded them all to the operators of the Sales (POS) of the Sales (POS). Among officials in the area, allegedly conducted among cheap officials, who were in Sales (POS), allegedly after inarge.
Shabi gave an inspiration at a town hall meeting organized by the Lagos State Police Command on Saturday, April 5, which marks part of the National Police Week’s event.
He said Bobrisky never sent his sentence to prison and was placed in a private apartment outside the custody center, allegedly arranged by partner corrections officers.
“Before the truth came out, everyone thought he had served his time in Kirikiri. But the truth is that Bobrisky lived comfortably outside the prison wall due to criminal cooperation involving some officials,” he said.
Shabi said it was through his intervention that the scandal was circulated, adding that he invited all POS operators in the community to join his palace, and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission has since been involved.
“I called the EFCC myself after I called the POS operators to my palace. From there, they were able to track transactions and decode currency trails,” he said.
The traditional ruler explained that the arrangement involved correctional officers who contacted POS vendors withdrew funds from CrossDresser’s ATM cards.
He said the convenience of cash yielding shows that collaborators are organized.
Shabi added: “It’s shocking how it was so quickly to get 35 million N N from here. Obviously, it’s not a single job. The officer who helped him has been suspended.”
He further claimed that Bobsky’s property was allegedly identified and removed during this period, and that both the State Services and the EFCC asked him about the incident.
He said: “DSS first invited me to ask, and I told them everything I knew. The EFCC also extended a helping hand and I gave them all my cooperation. As a community leader, I can’t let this impunity be unrestricted.”
His claims contradict a previous report submitted by the National Assembly panel that found that Bobrisky maintained priority treatment throughout his term but was still in prison premises.
