Godknows Igali, president of the Pandef Forum, revealed that former First Lady’s patience Jonathan begged politician Edwin Clark to support Nyesom Wike in bidding to become Rivers state governor.

Igali spoke on an AIT show, revealing that the former first lady even rolled on the floor to convince her husband, former president Good Luck JonathanClark supports Wike’s candidacy.

Wike is now the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), elected as Governor of Rivers in 2015 and re-elected in 2019, serving until May 2023.

Revelation follows Wick’s recent media chat, he accused Pandef of visiting President Bola Tinubu for personal support.

In response to Wick’s comments, Igali defended the delegation, highlighting that it included the senior traditional ruler, former governor, senator and minister.

“We used to organize retreats for the new ministers, where we taught them the ethics of how decent and respectful it is. Do not dance, yell, or use inappropriate words on the elders. We are still Africans for goodwill,” Yigali said.

He further recounts the answers of respected figures in the Niger Delta, including retired officers who were insulted by Vick’s speech.

Pandef leader said:Some traditional rulers called me and said, “Amusement by Igali, did you take us to the villa and get insulted by this way? Do you know I retired from the army in 1975? Where is that minister? I have to apologize and clarify our intentions.”

Igali also reminded Wike of his past relationship with Pandef, recalling how he sought support from the organization when he was eager to become governor.

“When you want to be governor, you come to Pandef. You kneel before Chief Edwin Clark. I’m in another room in the house. Patient Jonathan rolls on the floor begging President Jonathan,” he said.

He explained that some key figures, including AK Horsfall, the late Alabo Graham-Douglas and the traditional ruler of Etche, initially opposed the Wike’s candidacy, thinking it was time for the River candidate. However, the former First Lady insisted on Vick’s appearance and begged stakeholders to support him.

“She begged, she is still alive.“Gali Emhased.
