You asked, we answered. See how much expected Barcelona will be to win the 2025 La Liga title.
After the 2024/2025 La Liga season, there are questions about how many winners win the championship get.
The 2024/2025 La Liga champions at Barca mark a high point in their football comeback, with financial rewards reportedly costing €58.4 million. On the surface, it looks like a huge payday. However, the report shows that total spending is expected to decrease due to possible deductions and existing financial commitments.
The €58.4 million figure accounts for about 17% of the total revenue pool of La Liga TV rights, at €343.5 million. However, the money has not been delivered in full. La Liga follows a payment system for deferred extensions, which was extended for five years. Only 35% was paid in the first year and 20% in the second year, and the remaining 45% were allocated 15% of annual installments over the next three years. Therefore, while the reward is considerable, the cash flow is direct.
Barcelona’s total revenue in domestic competitions this season may range between €60 million and €90 million. This includes additional revenue from the Spanish Super Cup (9 million euros) and Copa del Rey (1.2 million euros). But even the characters in these combinations cannot tell the whole story.
A portion of the club’s La Liga revenue (10%) will be redirected to the deal due to a previous agreement with US investment company Sixth Street, The New York Times reported. In 2022, Barcelona sold part of its future TV version to ensure immediate financial relief.
Barcelona may have canceled the trophy, but the money game is far from direct.
