Benu Governor Hyacinth Alia has issued a harsh warning that he cannot guarantee the safety of any person or group without prior notice or approval.
The governor urged individuals who consider such visits to reconsider their plans for their own safety.
In a statement released on Monday, April 14, his chief press secretary Tersoo Kula and “Notice on the Visit to Benue State,” Governor Alia made it clear that he did not expect any visitors and was currently in a high-level meeting with emergency state affairs.
“Benue State Governor, Rev. Hyacinth Alia, wants to inform the public that he will not expect any August visitors to come to the state today,” the statement said. “He is currently having a high-profile meeting with major state actors to discuss key issues affecting our state.”
The governor advises not to conduct any form of visit without formal approval, especially those that may lead to political gatherings or gatherings. He warned that such unauthorized visits would be at the risk of tourists’ own risk.
“So, he strongly advises that you target any group or high-profile persons, attempting to enter the state for any visit to any visit without prior approval. For anyone considering Benue State, such plans must be reconsidered without the knowledge of the governor, because safety and security in this regard must be guaranteed.”
In addition, the statement stresses that any individual or group planning to visit an internally displaced person (IDP) camp must first obtain written permission from the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA).
“We urge security personnel and the public to pay attention to this announcement and to maintain peace and order in the state,” the statement concluded.
