Davido shares how his absence affects the music industry

Afrobeats feels David Adeleke (Davido) changed his name, he refused to stop online trolls, even in the face of constant negative comments.

The award-winning artist and five fathers posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account revealing that he deliberately made critics accessible so they could continue to witness his achievements.

Davido noted that stopping them would only deny that they had the opportunity to watch his career and personal growth.

“I don’t have Dey Block. I hope you see my move, but I’ll still curse your dad.” He wrote in the iconic combination of English and Pijin.

The singer added that while he doesn’t mind people keeping labels on him, he will launch without hesitation if they go too far.

His remarks sparked a wave of reactions online, with some fans praising his confidence and perseverance, while others noted that Davido continued to draw attention to music and his keen social media replies.

In other news… Nigerian chef Rita Nnagbogu Ifeyinwa is preparing for the historic culinary challenge as she plans to cook the largest Ukodo and Beans in Asaba, Delta State next week.

This bold attempt is expected to earn her a place in the Guinness World Record and join her with other Nigerians who have gained global recognition through groundbreaking achievements.

A philanthropist has reportedly promised ₦20 million to support the event. Sponsorship will provide the resources and logistics needed for large-scale cooking activities.

The highly anticipated occasion will attract food lovers, culture lovers and supporters eager to witness history. Ukodo is a traditional yam soup in Nigeria’s staple food, as well as beans next to it, making this event both celebrate food and culture.
