Omotoyosi Ogunbanwo, a US-based Nigerian finance and data expert, said she could not afford the “Lagos lifestyle” despite making $300,000 a year.
She revealed this in a Facebook post on Sunday, while also surprised by the level of wealth in Lagos.
“I really doubt Lagos doesn’t have clean money. I make $300,000 a year, which is considered high income in the United States, but I still can’t afford the lifestyle in Lagos. Something isn’t right somewhere in LMAO.”
“I’m not saying it’s a shadow for anyone, though. I’m really surprised by the level of wealth in Lagos. It’s crazy. The brand new 2026 luxury cars are barely hitting dealers in the United States, constantly shipping them to Nigeria. Although my income level makes it less cash for me to buy these cars, I’m really surprised. I’m really surprised.”
