I stole a bag of rice because I was hungry-the security guard told the court

A 21 -year -old security guard, Mohammed Yunusa, informed the local court of Abuja Kubwa. He stole a bag of rice and corn because he had no food to eat.

Yunusa, who lives in the Dawaki region in Abuja, pleaded guilty of criminal conspiracy and theft.

“My boss, the retired deputy supervisor (Dig) Ali Janja hired me as a security guard, because the avant -garde Aminu Haruna traveled in December. My boss went to Kaduna and brought my child to home at home. . The children did not give me a bag of rice and a bag of corn as my food, not selling. “He said.

Yunusa added that he stayed at the police station for 19 days and prayed to the court to defend him with compassion, saying that he was sorry.

Prosecutor John Okpa told the court earlier that he did not apply for compensation from the stolen items because they had recovered from Yunusa.

The referee Oyepeju Mustapha was sentenced to two -month community services at the court in the court and ordered him to provide the guarantor. Mustapha said that without the guarantor, Yunusa would have to serve a sentence for a month.

Prosecutors have said that Jibrin Dauda, a boss of Enza, reported the matter at the headquarters of Dawaki at Abuja Dawaki on January 12.

He said that Yunusa and Haruna conspired, stole a bag of corn and a bag of rice, from the boss’s shop, worth N500,000.

He said the crime violated Article 97 and 288 of the Criminal Law.
