Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has announced his support for President Bola Tinubu of Rivers State’s declaration of a state of emergency, adding that he would rather evacuate suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara directly.
Wick announced the popularity in a media chat in Abuja on Friday, April 18.
President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in the state last month, citing political instability and recent security threats, including pipeline explosions.
The president suspended Governor Forbala, Lt. Governor Ngozi Odu and House members for six months.
IBOK – Deputy Admiral Eber Ibas was appointed as the only executive of the country, waiting for the crisis to be resolved.
Wike, the direct governor of the former governor of Rivers, said: “As a politician, I declared unhappy with the urgent rule of Rivers. I hope to remove myself directly.
“This matter is in court, but people have to tell the truth. The governor is gone. It’s not my position that makes it good for the governor. As a politician, my business is not making him feel comfortable.”
Wike and Fubara have been at Loggerheads since Fubara became governor.
