- Pastor Enoch Adeboye has said he refused the personal use of three Mercedes Benz cars presented to him one day, noting that he sacrificed a lucrative career to respond to God’s call and did not enter the ministry for money.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has spoken of the sacrifices he made after responding to the call to ministry, refuting claims that pastors do church work for financial gain.
Pastor Adeboye disclosed at a church event that he was once given three Mercedes Benz cars in one day but he did not use them. He said moments like this remind him of the career and opportunities he left behind to become a priest.
Responding to criticism that pastors are money-motivated, the cleric said he hoped God would forgive those who hold such views, stressing that he was fully aware that he had abandoned a career path of serving in the ministry.
According to him, becoming a priest is a deliberate choice rooted in obedience to God rather than the pursuit of wealth.
