Top Fasua, president of Nigeria and special advisor for economic affairs for Bola Tinubu, said Leki residents can still eat well with 2,500 people.
This is in his comments on the weekend that Nigerians would eat well for $1, while Americans can’t use ten dollars of food.
Fasua acknowledges the current rise of hunger nationwide, pointing out that poverty in Nigeria is not a new phenomenon, but a phenomenon inherited from previous generations.
Fasua said in Arise TV’s Morning Show that even in high-end Lekki, affordable meals are as low as 2,500 n2,500.
“I was in Blackbell yesterday (Blackbell to be exact) and I saw someone who could still eat 2500 Nerra there. While there is hunger in Nigeria, it does not define our national identity and is often exaggerated in the media. For many Nigerians, n1,500 is a large amount.
