Former Rivers Service Director Dr. George Nwaeke dismissed his abduction and forced to make statements against suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
In a video released Saturday morning, NWAEKE refuted allegations from his wife Florence, who alerted him about his whereabouts after resigning earlier this week. Contrary to his wife’s claim, Nwaeke said he volunteered to go to Abuja to report to security agencies about the recent political developments in Rivers State.
“I am in Transcorp, Abuja. This morning I arrived from Harcourt Port to report disturbing incidents with the security agencies and Rivers State. I served as the Director of Service on Monday due to these developments.”
He also refuted his wife’s fears, attributed them to misinformation.
“I just saw the video of my wife’s trend. She was told I’ve been kidnapped and given a script. I want to make it clear – I’m not kidnapped. I’m in Abuja, working.
My wife was not involved in my formal responsibilities when I was serving as the Service Supervisor. The script she read was invalid. I’m safe and sound. I will report myself to the appropriate security agencies because Abuja has their headquarters and I report it safer here. ”
His upset wife, Florence Nwaeke, expressed deep concern about her husband’s safety last night. She revealed that when he called to confirm that he arrived in Abuja, she became suspicious after watching the online interview.
“I said, ‘That’s not my husband. That’s not my husband,” she recalled.
She described her attempt to reach him frantically, pointing out
“I sent him a message: ‘Are you under coercion? Did they kidnap you? Talking to me now. Why don’t you respond?’ But he didn’t answer.
