The Oyo State Police Command successfully retrieved a Toyota Corolla campaign that was recently stolen from an electronic car driver in Ibadan during an armed robbery.
Police spokesman Osifeso Adewale confirmed the recovery in a statement Monday, noting that cars with LSR 893CX with registration number LSR 893CX have been restored after anti-business was carried out.
He stressed that recovery has surged in attacks on cyclists across the state.
“There has increased incidents of armed robbers targeting Uber drivers, stealing vehicles and cash in recent weeks,” he said. Statement reading.
The case was initially handled by the Iyaganku Department Police Headquarters and was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
Using surveillance and tracking methods, anti-robbery squads are able to track and recover stolen Toyota Corolla.
The Oyo State police commissioner praised the recovery, calling it the headquarters’ commitment to protect lives and property.
“This search of stolen vehicles underscores our active approach to crime. We remain committed to protecting residents and ensuring that perpetrators of this behavior are brought to justice.” He said.
The police commander also called on the public to report any suspicious activity as it continues to work to combat crime in the state.
