2023 Social Democratic Presidential Candidate (SDP) Adewole Adebayo expressed his willingness to lower his presidential ambitions in the 2027 elections to make a more suitable candidate a standard bench for his party.

Naija News Adebayo reportedly made a statement in Sunday’s version of Inner Materials, Laolu Akande, a socio-political program that aired on channel television.

Adebayo stressed that while he is currently working to reach his 2027 presidential bid, he recognizes that “God is the author of tomorrow” and that he is willing to accept the idea of a higher eligible person who leads the country.

“Everyone knows I have a wish. I’m working on it, but God is the author of tomorrow; we don’t even know who will show up in 2027.” Adebayo said.

“I pray to God that if there is someone who thinks that solving Nigeria is better than me, my ambition should not stop that person because we want a country that works, He added.

The SDP president is expected to reaffirm the party’s commitment to providing Nigerians with the candidate they may be proud of whom they are able to challenge all the Progressive Assembly (APC) president Bola Tinubu in the upcoming presidential election.

“We will give Nigerians a candidate, and all citizens will be proud of themselves and ready to have the opportunity to cancel President Bra Tinub in the next presidential election,” Adebayo announced.

He also stressed that the SDP platform will not engage in separatist politics, especially along religious and racial boundaries.

Adebayo acknowledges religious and ethnic sensitivity in Nigerian politics, noting that these issues are becoming increasingly volatile.

“The previous discussions – related to religion and race – have now become explosive. So we won’t use the SDP forum to try to divide our people into different regions,” He explained.

The SDP leaders further added that the party’s goal is to create a system where their selection of candidates will bring unity and wide recognition, and said, said, said, said, said “What we are looking for now is a system where there is a huge joy outside of SDP when we make choices in SDP, and Nigerians will say, ‘Well, finally, this platform gives the country a chance.’”
