Nigerian lawyer Samuel Gift Onyinye Ola has advised men to protect their assets when registering for divorce in the name of their children.
The lawyer also said that after the divorce, a man who lost part of his property to his wife was not smart.
“If a woman divorces and participates in your property, it means you are not smart as a man. There are some irrevocable trust. Register in your child’s name, it will no longer be a part of the marital property.”
“The only exception may be the timing. If you run to the “trust” during divorce, this will not be respected, which will be a step of maliciousness. If a trust is established before a marriage, it is more likely to be considered independent property. If it is created during a marriage, it may be divided.”
