Buithat Hudu Muhammad Lawal, a Nigerian woman, revealed that she sought permission from her husband before she started work, adding that she would obey him if he told her not to go.
The biochemist shared this in a Facebook post on Monday, highlighting the importance of submitting in marriage, a sign of respect, love, not weakness.
“Last week, I conducted a six-day Enugu field trip,” she wrote.
Before I set out, I sought my husband’s permission and gave him a clear, thoughtful reason for traveling.
Not because I was weak or he was in control, but because I had a deep respect for his man. His wisdom, judgment and vision are qualities that I take for granted.
If he says, “Don’t go,” I’ll be out of love and respect rather than fear.
I am very grateful to him for supporting me and giving me the freedom to spread my wings.
Submission is not a weakness.
