‘If they cannot govern, they will divide the country’ – Odumeje calls on Tinubu to resign

    • Odumeje was fiercely critical of Nigeria’s leadership, saying the country should be divided if President Bola Tinubu and governors cannot run the country.
    • He accused the political class of being busy embezzling public funds while citizens struggled with unemployment, insecurity and the killing of Christians.
    • Odumeje also criticized politicians for using excessive security measures (as many as 50 police officers) during the operation, arguing that such large details are only needed if leaders succeed in transforming Nigeria into a place like Dubai.

Prophet Odumeje has issued a fiery statement criticizing the current state of governance in Nigeria and challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and state governors. He suggested that if the current leadership cannot run the country, the country should be divided.

Odumeye accused the political class of widespread corruption while citizens faced severe hardship and insecurity.

    Allegations of corruption and neglect

The prophet asserted that leaders put personal interests above the welfare of the people:

“Tinubu and the governors are busy embezzling public funds while Nigerians suffer. There are no jobs, no security, Christians are being killed every day while politicians walk around with as many as 50 security agents.”

He painted a bleak picture of the country, citing a lack of jobs, high levels of insecurity and targeted violence against Christians as the government’s main failings.

Call to action for sectors and youth

Odumeje made a clear call for the country to be divided if effective governance cannot be achieved:

“If the leaders cannot govern this country which they call ‘One Nigeria’, then the country should be divided.”

He also urged Nigerian youths to become more actively involved and aware of political realities:

“Nigerian youth need to wake up.”

    Criticism of security details

Finally, the prophet ridiculed politicians for excessive security details, arguing that such protection is justified only if the leader significantly improves the country’s standard of living:

“It only makes sense to have 50 security personnel following a politician when he turns Nigeria into a place like Dubai. Only then will people be willing to protect such a leader.”

Odumeje’s statement has increased public pressure on Tinubu’s government to respond to the serious economic and security challenges facing Nigeria.

“If those in power cannot run this country they call ‘One Nigeria’, then the country should be divided. Tinubu and the governors are busy misappropriating public funds while Nigerians are suffering. There are no jobs, no security, Christians are being killed every day and yet… pic.twitter.com/iHqDqFLIBr
