American rapper Nicki Minaj has expressed concern about the growing persecution of Christians around the world, warning that society ignores ongoing religious violence at its peril.
The award-winning artist also commended United States President Donald Trump and his administration for labeling Nigeria a country of particular concern for violations of religious freedom.
In a post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday, Minaj expressed her gratitude for living in a country where individuals are free to practice their faith. She stressed that no one should be targeted or oppressed because of their religious beliefs.
Minaj further stressed that many countries continue to suffer religious persecution and urged the international community to speak out and take action rather than remain indifferent to such injustices.
She wrote: “Reading this makes me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can worship God freely.
“No group should be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs to respect each other.
“Many countries around the world are affected by this horror and it would be dangerous to pretend we don’t notice.
“Thank you to the president and his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let us remember to support them through prayer.”
