    IGP orders immediate deployment of troops to the river, vowing to difficult actions against threats

    In response to the escalation of political tensions in Rivers State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a state of emergency on March 18, 2025, prompting rapid security reinforcements.

    Follow this directive, the Attorney General of Police IGP A mature onehas ordered the deployment of other security personnel and resources to the state immediately.

    The move is carried out in cooperation with the armed forces and other agencies to restore order, protect life and property, and prevent a complete breakdown of law and order.

    Authorities also warned against any attempt to exploit the situation, stressing that security forces are prepared to take decisive action to prevent threats to stability.

These events have clearly proposed a case for a state that has reached a trip point, requiring timely intervention to avoid a complete collapse of law and order in River State, which may have a greater impact on national security.

    “In response, Police Attorney General IGP Kayode Egbetokun, NPM, has ordered the immediate deployment of other personnel and resources to Rivers State.     “The individuals or groups with criminal intent are hereby warned to stay away from the River State. Security forces are ready to take decisive action to respond to any threat to national peace and stability.. ”
