Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike said defectors from former Democratic former vice presidential candidate (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa and Delta Governor Oborevwori proved his political stance in the last general election.
Naija News The report said Wike made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday evening, April 23, 2025 in Abuja’s senior special assistant to public communication and social media.
The minister described Okowa’s public recognition as confirming what he saw in 2023, and his decision does not support the 2023 PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Wick called on other Nigerians who were still sitting on the fence to provide support to the president.
He said “This is another recognition of the President’s good governance and commitment to the development of the country.
“This is a testament to the position I took in 2023, which is based on the interests of Nigeria.
“I commend Dr. Okowa and the Sheriff of Governor Oporevwori, this heart-warming decision must be informed by President Bola Tinubu’s good governance and commitment to the integration and development of Nigeria.
“That’s what I keep telling people to say, not when they have problems and start running up and down.
“They come out and express their support for the President in due time so that the people of the Niger Delta can benefit more from the government, and I commend them.
“I’m particularly happy that what I saw before the 2023 presidential election, others are now seeing and joining the new Hope Train.”
