
Deputy Admiral Ibas Ibas, the only Chief Executive of Rivers State, reiterated his neutrality in the state’s ongoing political crisis, pledging to focus on peacebuilding, conflict resolution and inclusive governance.
Speaking at a weekend meeting with leaders of youth organizations and other stakeholders, Ibas stressed that his administration will promote open dialogue and mutual understanding to create an environment of peace and prosperity for all citizens. The delegation was led by Nwisabari Bani, President of Rivers of the National Youth Committee of Nigeria (NYCN).
“It is important to reaffirm the political crisis that has plagued our country. I remain committed to upholding the law and ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their political affiliation, speak voices in the future of Rivers. My administration will continue to focus on the collective interests of our people.”
He urged young people to cooperate and continue to participate as a key tool for peace. “I appeal to all of you, the vibrant and vibrant young people, to accept cooperation, dialogue and ongoing participation. The President must work hard to ensure that the mandate I have commissioned. We will continue to fulfill the mandate. We will continue to prioritize every effort to restore democratic institutions to our high-profile country.”
The retired Navy officer reiterated his determination to engage all parts of the state’s political future, especially young people, and pointed to his administration’s efforts to rebuild trust. He highlighted a series of consultations with traditional rulers, civil society groups, civil servants and leaders from various departments to prioritize development.
“So, my government’s focus on youth development is a multifaceted approach that aims to prioritize four key areas.
