Federal Capital Territory Minister NYESOM WIKE said he is willing to settle with suspended River Governor Sim Fubara, who is a sincere apology for the state’s ongoing political crisis.
Since the latter served as governor in 2023, Wike and Fubara have been in a conflict, causing political rifts to deepen, eventually breaking the state’s House of Representatives and creating two rival factions within the legislature.
President Bora Tinubu declared a state of emergency as tensions escalate and the crisis begins to affect the security of the state. The president took a decisive move, suspending Governor Fobara for six months and appointing a sole administrator to oversee the state’s affairs.
Wike spoke on Friday, April 18 at Abuja media Parley, questioning the sincerity to resolve the crisis and highlighting the need for a real conversation.
“Is anyone close to anyone? I don’t like hypocrites,” Vick said.
“I asked her [a reference to an unnamed individual] Listed an elder in River State who made any real effort to promote peace. ”
He added: “At the end of the day, if we achieve nothing, we will restore the First Square – which is meaningless. The day when Mr. President intervened, the members of the parliament immediately withdrew the notice of impeachment. I am willing to forgive – if he comes in sincerity.”
