The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) has received a petition seeking to suspend the recall process of Senator Natasha Akputi-Udoagen (Kogi Central).
1. We, the Signator, are formally registered voters of the Central Senate District of Kogi, hereby invoking our rights under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to formally request Senator Natasha Akputti Akputti Udoagen to recall the Nigerian Senate.
2. In particular, this petition by Senator Natasha Akpti-Udoagen was proposed in accordance with Article 69 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1999 (Amendment) and the INEC regulations and guidelines for recalling petitions.
3. Recall that Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan was sentenced to become our Senate by the Court of Appeal Abuja on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, which confirmed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate’s election on February 25, 2023.
4. This petition is due to the loss of confidence in the senator in a manner that is serious misconduct, abuse of office, evading due process and deceptive behavior, which not only embarrasses the people of Kogi Central Central constituency, but also undermines the integrity of the Nigerian Senate and our country’s democratic institutions.
5. Through this petition, we ensure that the petition signed by more than half of the registered voters of Kogi Central in Kogi Central, we hereby request that the independent National Election Commission (INEC) immediately begin the constitutional and procedural process of recalling to revoke Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan and declare her seat vacant. ”
