Kaka Shehu Lawan, a member of the Borno Central, who represents the Borno Central under the All Progressive Assembly (APC), has recommended that Minister of Information and National Authorization Mohammed Idris stop politicizing the problem of insecurity in the country.
He said Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum raised the issue in a worsening security situation in the state, highlighting that Borno “seems to lose reason for the Boko Haram rebels”.
In response, the minister issued a statement on Wednesday insisting that the federal government remains committed to dealing with terrorism and gangsters nationwide.
But Lawan issued a statement through Thursday’s statement, accusing Idris of politicizing the security crisis rather than following in the footsteps of past ministers, who focused on strengthening the image of the federal government.
He said:I was shocked that instead of promoting the policies and plans of the current government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I was shocked by the minister’s choice to politicize the lingering insecurity and the Boko Haram crisis that has put the people of Borno and the Northeast in trouble. ”
Lawan expressed disappointment at Idris’ remarks about the role of Governor Zulum and marked it as “unfortunate and disrespectful.”
He stressed that the minister sitting in Abuja should not undermine the governor’s position, who was directly involved in local security development and has been briefed by security agencies and traditional rulers.
Lawan further noted that Governor Zulum has consistently worked to complement the federal initiative in combating the insurgency, including the recent allocation of operating vehicles, motorcycles and houses to security forces.
“It is frustrating that instead of focusing on his joint aid federal government with a positive view, he has participated in his own trivial matters in order to gain cheap popularity,” he said. The opponent said.
