The Niger State Government has adopted a new directive as a battle against the state’s insecurity.
Governor Mohammed Umar Bago placed a curfew on commercial motorcycles, which (commonly known as Okada and its operations in the state capital Minna) every day, in a new statement issued by a stakeholder meeting.
He said during the recent deaths and killings in the state, he said anyone who found the weapon would be arrested and considered an armed robber.
“Only those who are under serious medical care can exempt the ban on Okada and Keke’s nap exercises.”
Governor Bago also ordered the arrest of anyone with braids in the state and said their heads should be shaved and imposed fines on them.
The governor added that the lives and safety of Niger residents are his priority and anyone convicted of the crime will face the anger of the law.
“It will be 100% enforcement because enough is enough.” He added
