
The Nigerian army united three bandits and destroyed camps in the Karim Ramido local government area of Talaba State.
Captain Olubodunde Oni, acting assistant director of the Army’s public relations, Nigeria’s 6th Brigade, disclosed this in a statement over the weekend, saying the troops also recovered one AK-47 magazine from the scene and 13 bullets from the scene.
“In continue of the ongoing military operations codenamed OPERATION LAFIYA JAMAA, aimed at flushing out criminal elements from Taraba State, gallant troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) have successfully neutralized 3 bandits, destroyed several camps, and recovered arms and ammunition in a daring clearance operation conducted on 5 April 2025 in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Talaba,” the statement reads.
“This operation was directed at the hiding place of the suspicious bandits, seeing the troops heading to Achalle where the entire area was thoroughly cleared and further force was projected toward Red Cliff. When they arrived at Red Cliff, the troops contacted the bandits, who began to flee when they saw the advancing troops.
“In the subsequent participation, three bandits were neutralized and several temporary camps used by criminals were destroyed. The troops also recovered 2 motorcycles, 1 AK-47 magazine from the scene, and 13 bullets were recovered from the scene.
“In addition, the troops have thoroughly coloured the Dutsen Zaki and Achalle axes, with more than 70 crime battalions dismantling in recent weeks. In this latest scan, no human activity was observed, indicating the continued success of previous operations.
Commander 6 Nigerian Army, Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa will assure their resilience and tactical success, to the good people in Taraba, who said there is no safe haven for terrorists and criminals in the state.
