Eligibility Criteria for the International Excellence Scholarship
Eligibility criteria for each scholarship are set out in the appendix to this document.
If we reasonably believe that you do not meet our eligibility criteria and you wish to appeal, we will ask you to provide us with the evidence we consider necessary for a new assessment. You must provide us with the requested evidence as soon as possible.
Cancel scholarship
Your scholarship may be canceled immediately if: – you withdraw from your study programme; or
- You have been dismissed, suspended or expelled from all or part of the University or your program of study due to academic failure; or
- We reasonably believe that you have made any misrepresentation to us (whether negligently or intentionally) when applying for a scholarship or in the course of or in connection with your studies at the University; or
- We reasonably believe that you have acted fraudulently or dishonestly in connection with your award of a scholarship or university place.
If your studies are interrupted, including on maternity or paternity leave, any payments will be suspended until you return and progress to the next stage of your course. However, for students receiving donor-funded scholarships, you may not be able to retain your scholarship if your studies are interrupted for a period of time, and requests will be processed on a case-by-case basis.
This scholarship is for a designated program and will not transfer to an alternative program if you later submit a transfer request.
If at any stage you decide to defer course entry to the following year, you will no longer be eligible for the scholarship. You may apply again the following year, but you are not guaranteed an award and you will be subject to eligibility restrictions for any program operating during the year of enrollment.
Repayment of Scholarships
If your scholarship is cancelled, you will be responsible for immediate payment on demand in an amount equal to your scholarship.
If we make an error in calculating your scholarship and you receive any funds to which you are not entitled, we may require you to refund the overpayment to us and you will be responsible for repaying it to us within 30 days of our request.
Marketing and Promotion
You may be required, with reasonable notice, to participate in any publicity and marketing activities we may wish to undertake in connection with the Scholarship Programme, which may include, but is not limited to, public appearances, speeches, photographs, blogs and/or tweets or interviews.
