Islamic priests and Urama Council President Dr. Ibrahim Jalingo has caused widespread controversy after publicly acknowledging the fines of individuals who abandon religion.
In a statement shared via his official Facebook page on Thursday, April 10, Jalingo strongly defended the provisions of the apostasy for the death penalty and condemned critics of the literature of Hadith, accusing them of “complex ignorance.”
Tribune reported that Jalingo’s post was in response to growing criticism, arguing about the authenticity of a particular hadith, which many believe contradicts the doctrine of the Quran. However, Jalingo dismissed such an argument, launching a detailed theological rebuttal to what he called the “maker” that aimed at discrediting the Islamic tradition.
“Today, I met the first of the so-called “100 Hadiths” which the manufacturer claimed contradicts the Quran. They asserted that neither the divine revelation nor the Quran responded to them! The Muslims of the Hadith were: ‘Who changed his religion and killed him.” The man who made this statement to me was a man named Issiyaku Abdulkadir.
Here is my response to these manufacturers’ claims: First, I thank you for starting to bring me what this composite Ignoramus calls “100 Hadiths that contradict the Quran”. God will, and this will give me the opportunity to expose His ignorance of the world. ”
Haringo believes that the Hadith is inspired by divinely and should not be considered explanatory: “Second: Everyone should clearly show that the prophet (peace and blessings come upon him) never said: “The function of the Hadith is to explain the Quran. “But the prophet said, “Indeed, I got the Quran and so on.” “It is true that the Qur’an is the revelation of Allah, and the revelation of the Hadith is often seen.
He used multiple Quranic references to further support the Hadith and claimed that this was not inconsistent with the Bible.
“Third: The Hadith you quote – ‘Whenever you change his religion, kill him’ – is true and does not contradict the revelation of the Quran. This is because Allah says in verse 5, Allah says in Sura Att Tava: ‘Then, when the holy month passes, when you find them everywhere, no matter where you find them.
Jalingo also quotes verses from Surah Al-Baqarah and Surah An-Nisa in support of his argument.
“Fight them until there is no more Fetana (incredible and oppressed), and religion only applies to Allah.” Meaning: Fight them until they accept Islam, in verse 89, kill them. Again in the Qur’an, verse 91: “Where you are against them.’’”
The pastor dismissed widely cited Scriptures that no longer apply religious freedom. “You will see that unless someone is completely ignorant like a manufacturer, no one will claim that the Hadith says ‘change his religion, kill him”””’ contradicts the Quran because the Quran itself goes further. It not only allows the killing of the pole, but in some contexts all the polytheists.
“Fourth: You should also know that ‘religion is not compulsive’ (la Ikrah fi ad-deen) the verses have been quoted in the verses we just quoted, and the verses you bring in the verses quoted in the Hadith: ‘Who changed his religion and killed him.’ Abolition is a recognized concept in the glorious Quranic revelation. ”
Jalingo’s attack on critics ends the post
“This is a brief response to the complex ignorance of this person – a method and approach similar to a prostitute and a tendency, the so-called manufacturer.”
Since then, the pastor’s speech has spread on social media platforms, drawing support and condemnation.
