    • Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold shares personal and emotional experiences on the podcast.
    • He revealed that the last time he cried was a few months ago while walking down the street.
    • The moment highlights his vulnerability and emotional depth as an artist.

Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold recently recounted a deeply moving moment in his life.

According to Naija News, the “Many People” singer shared on the podcast that the last time he cried was when he was walking down the street a few months ago.

He shed tears when he watched his daughter Deja perform for the first time via video call.

Adekunle Gold revealed that he felt extremely proud and eager at that moment as he knew he would not be able to be there to witness such a special milestone.

He reflects on the sacrifices that come with trying to stay connected to his family while pursuing a successful career.

The singer also mentioned that this intense experience influenced the writing of his song “My Love Is the Same.”

He said: “When was the last time I cried? That was the last time I cried. About two or three months ago. Do you remember what it was about? Oh, yeah, Deja was performing and I wasn’t there, so they called me on video. So they called me and showed me, it was her first performance.

“I thought, no, this is crazy. It’s like the price you have to pay to build and do this and, of course, take care of your family. Yeah, that’s one of the reasons I wrote ‘My Love Is the Same.’ I don’t know what people go through.” It’s crazy. Letting it go and getting confident, I thought, oh shit, I wish I was there. Yes, I started crying. “
