    • Nigerian comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, known as Sabinus, has attracted attention through its new short drama.
    • The short play features Nollywood Legend Pete Edochie.
    • In the clip, Sabinus slips the fried chicken into what appears to be Edochie’s shrine.

Nigerian comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu (commonly known as Sabinus) has recently attracted widespread online attention by a new short series featuring Nollywood Icon Icon Pete Edochie.

In the virus clip, in the shrine that appears to be Pete Edochie, sabinus is shown sneaky chicken, just captured by a hidden camera. The shots were later presented to him and the veteran actor, leading to humorous but dramatic events.

However, not everyone finds it interesting. Nigerian social media commentator Daniel Regha criticized the video, saying it was dissatisfied and could be harmful to cultural perceptions.

Regha expressed his concern about the use of etiquette themes in an article on X (formerly Twitter), warning that such content could reinforce negative stereotypes about Nigeria internationally.

“The skits by Sabinus and Pete Edochie aren’t really fun,” Regha wrote. “Nigeria is an overly ritualistic country, a narrative that leads to some global stigma that we can’t always portray ourselves like this unless we solve a problem.”

    Watch the following short drama:

    See some comments below:

@galibillyyoung: “I personally haven’t seen a short show, but from this post I’ll agree with Daniel for the first time. People only see the image we portray.

@corruptionizbad: “Unless a challenge is made or the problem is corrected, we will not be able to continue to cast in this way.

@bhadjayy: “I said the same thing, lol. Sabinis time is over. He should move to abeg.”

@LavidAmercy: “The short play is fun. Not every content has to carry the weight of the Nigerian image on its back. Daniel just chose to wear his saddle hat today.”

@michaeladeitan: Nigeria is not kidding, even for short dramas. Pete and Sabinus: Maybe you will use your talents to highlight the truth, not just punches. 😂. ”

@sefatuba3__fvc: “Daniel is interesting, you can only say you don’t find it interesting, we’ll know that this is your personal problem.”
