Talent manager Teebillz has publicly revealed a vulnerable conversation he once had with musician 2Baba (Innocent Idibia) while strongly urging the music icon to seek therapy and help amid his current marital crisis.
Teebillz shared a photo of himself and 2Baba on Instagram, recounting the emotional moment when 2Baba confided in him.
Teebillz recalls traveling to Nigeria to celebrate his father’s birthday, and 2Baba pleads with him to stay a little longer:
“I came back to Nigeria for the first time after being away for so long, and when I came for my dad’s birthday… you begged me to stay a little longer. You paid for my flight changes, hugged me, cried on my shoulder… ‘Billy, I haven’t had anyone to talk to since you left…'”
Tibbits said this honesty solidified his love for the singer: “That moment — your honesty — made me love you like a big brother to me.”
Teebillz acknowledged his own struggles (“I’m fighting my own demons too”), begged 2Baba to seek professional help and warned of the consequences of ignoring mental health issues, citing the late legend.
He wrote:
“Now is the time to seek help. Treatment…even clinical support if needed. There is no shame in choosing life. We’ve seen the pain legends like Michael Jackson, Whitney, Prince and Majek Fashek suffered when they didn’t face their inner demons.”
Teebillz gave some advice in his message, which many interpreted as a reference to 2Baba’s marital issues with Natasha Osawuru:
“Honestly… being alone is better than being with a woman who only loves the best in you or caters to the worst in you.”
He finally reiterated his love: “I love you, king number two. @official2baba.”
