    • JAMB has started selling applications for 2026 UTME and direct admission.
    • The announcement was made by the Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede through the official X account of the Board.
    • Applications for admission to Nigerian tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 academic session are open.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the start of sales for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 2026 and Direct Entry (DE) admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year.

In a statement signed by the Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede and shared on the board’s official X account on Tuesday evening, JAMB invited applications from qualified candidates seeking admission to Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The committee emphasized that qualifications are often linked to age, noting that, “Generally only candidates who will be 16 years old by September 30, 2026 are eligible to apply or be considered.”

However, younger candidates may also be considered under strict conditions. According to JAMB, “Applicants under 16 years of age must undergo rigorous assessment as of September 30, 2026 to qualify for exemption. They must achieve at least 80% in UTME/ALevel, PUTME, SSCE and Special Candidate Assessment.” The results of these candidates will be released after the evaluation process is completed.

Registration for UTME candidates (including international applicants) will open on Monday, January 26, 2026, and end on Saturday, February 28, 2026. E-PIN sales will begin on Monday, January 19, 2026, and end on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

For direct entry applicants, forms and electronic codes will be available from Monday 2 March 2026 to Saturday 25 April 2026. These forms can only be purchased at JAMB state and regional offices.

JAMB also provided details on the E-PIN fees: direct admission (N5,700), UTME without mock exams (N7,200) and UTME with mock exams (N8,700). Additional fees include UTME/DE application fee (N3,500), reading text fee (N1,000), CBT center registration fee (N700), CBT service fee (N1,500), bank fee (N500) and optional mock UTME fee (N1,500).

The 2026 UTME is scheduled to be held from Thursday, April 16, 2026 to Saturday, April 25, 2026, while the optional mock UTME will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
