Nigerian singer and songwriter Oluwajuwonlo Iledare (commonly known as Jaywon) rekindled discussions about the country’s economic struggle by supporting his peer Davido’s past remarks about the state of the country.

Davido made headlines in an interview a few months ago, describing Nigeria’s economy as “confusion” and prevent foreign investors from considering the country. His comments sparked a different reaction, with some Nigerians criticizing his blunt assessment of him.

Now, Jaywon has brought social media to Davido’s attention, especially to the economic situation in his hometown of Kogi. In a series of posts, the singer lamented the deteriorating situation and questioned those who had previously dismissed David’s comments.

“A few months ago, when Davido talked about the state of the country in an interview, some people quickly gathered together as if he was lying. Abeg, where are those people today? The reality is clear: Nigerians are their own biggest problem, Twelve o’clock.

In another tweet, he criticized social media users who he believed contributed to the wrong message and distractions, saying, saying, saying, saying, saying, saying, “97% of FCs are nothing more than shorts. Because don’t even worry, dem dem to mouth!”

His comments have since sparked online dialogue, with many Nigerians arguing about the debate about the country’s economic status and the role of influential voices in solving national problems.
