Nigerian singer Judy recently spoke in an interview about her experience as a single mother and the challenges of raising a son with special needs.
The singer split from her actor husband David Nagy when her baby was just two months old.
Speaking on Yanga 89.9FM, Jodie was asked about her earnings from her hit song “Kuchi Kuchi”. She revealed that despite the song’s popularity, she didn’t make any money from it. Judy explained that she personally financed the recording of the song and received no financial benefit.
She added that she tried to claim royalties and even hired a lawyer, but her efforts proved unsuccessful. Judy also accused her ex-husband, who recently gave birth to another child, of receiving all royalties from the song.
The singer said her marriage ended because her ex-husband claimed she was mentally unstable. She reflects on the irony that despite the label he labeled her, he left their son with her.
Judy acknowledged the challenges of raising a child with special needs, but expressed gratitude to God and described her journey as full of highs and lows.
In the interview, she also mentioned that when she first recorded “Kuchi Kuchi”, she was a shy person, but now she has grown into a confident and strong woman.
A few years ago, Jodie also urged the public not to harass her ex-husband online, noting that he had moved on with his own life.
