The ruler died Saturday night at his home in Ibadan in the Aginir Local Government Area of Oyo State, aged 125.

Responding to his demise, two Senators Yunus Akintunde and Sharafadeen Alli from Oyo Central and Oyo South Senate Districts were mourning, while expressing their condolences
Akintunde said in a statement through his special assistant:
His subjects and colleagues were well respected throughout the country, and his subjects and colleagues were called Sarkin Sasa by everyone and would be missed very much.

“He is both a political and spiritual leader for many, with both excellent leadership and a peaceful character. We will miss his unwavering support, guidance and wisdom.”

Senator Alli also sent condolences to his condolence message, while praising the monarch’s humility and dedication.
“His leadership virtues are unparalleled, and his peaceful nature is a source of inspiration. He is a father figure to many, always providing wise lawyers and firm support.” Ellie said
