Kaduna court orders 10 sugar cane for traders, they beat friends who have more than 3,000 debt

A court in Kaduna on Wednesday ordered 10 cane shots to a 34-year-old trader Jibrin Yusuf to defeat his friend with more than N3,000 debt.

Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel sentenced him to punishment after Yusuf pleaded guilty to the conspiracy and assault charges.

Emmanuel believes that the court will be lenient to the offender because he has not wasted the court’s time on the charges.

The magistrate warned the criminals that he had to refuse the court’s actions that he would not agree with him easily next time.

Emmanuel also ordered Yusuf to pay compensation to the complainant Abubakar Haruna N230,000.

Earlier, Prosecutor Insp Chidi Leo told the court that on February 16, Haruna, who was the same compound as the criminal, reported the matter at the Gabasawa Police Station.

Leo said that the complainant who had previously had borrowed money from his neighbors and he lost it in his room.

    The prosecutor said

Leo says the criminal later mobilized four boys, now the whole big man, broke into the complainant’s room, beat him, destroyed property worth N50,000, and stole his brother’s phone, worth N180 , 000.

Prosecutors said the crime violated the 2017 Kaduna State criminal law.
