The Kano government spoke in a court ruling on Emir Sanusi’s dismissal.
Nigeria News Nalin It was reported that the attorney-General of Kano State attorney Haruna Isa Dederi cleared the air, and the Court of Appeal in the Abuja Diprion ruling, in any case, restored Kano’s 16th Emir in Muhammadu Sanusi II.
Dederi announced: “The landmark judgment was passed on January 10, 2025, reaffirming the power of the Kano State government to reapply for Sanusi, and it is impossible for the Court of Appeal to put aside or cancel its own decision on the same matter.”

According to Dederi, the matter was “Fightua Officio”, adding that only the Supreme Court has the right to put aside the decision of the Court of Appeals handed over by Justice Mohammad Mustapha on January 10, 2025.
“Today, after hearing their application for execution, the Court of Appeal ruled that the status quo should be maintained as it is now until the Supreme Court’s judgment. An appeal has been filed with the Supreme Court.
“This does not mean that the judgment of January 10, 2025 was revoked. The judgment remains standing, still exists and survives. The Court of Appeal cannot reverse its own ruling. It is impossible. Dederi pointed out that this is just the Supreme Court and has the right to revoke the judgment of the lower court.” Dederi pointed out.
It would be recalled that on January 10, 2025, a three-member panel of Court of Appeal, Abuja division, led by Justice Mohammad Mustapha set aside the judgment of Justice A. Liman of the Federal High Court, Kano, which nullified the steps/actions taken by the Kano State Government pursued to the Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Law 2024, including the appointment of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the 16th Cano’s Emir.
Since then, Danagundi has been dissatisfied with the verdict and has gone to the Supreme Court to submit a lower court ruling.
Dagondi also filed a motion to enforce the judgment of Judge Mustafa until the Supreme Court’s judgment and ruling on the matter.
