
Agents from the Kano State Police Department arrested three suspected car thieves and recovered two stolen vehicles.
Command spokesman SID suspect was sent during patrols on the freestyle Hadin-Ringim highway.
“In order to comply with the instructions of the Attorney General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun of NPM ensured the 24/7 visibility patrol, Kano State Police Command achieved a major milestone in the fight against crime,” the statement said.
“After the visibility patrols in the state borders strengthened, our agents successfully arrested three suspects suspected of car theft and recovered two stolen motor vehicles.
“A team of the Special Intervention Squad (SIS) of the Command conducted a routine patrol on Yankaba-Hadejia Road, Kano-Ringim Express Way, based on reliable intelligence at 3:00 pm.
The team intercepted and arrested the following individuals: Sani Sirajo, 20, of Kaduna State, Rabiu Aliyu, 35, of Sharada Quarters, Kano, Kano and Isah Yakubu, 22, of Katsina State.
“During the arrest, the team recovered two stolen motor vehicles: Sir Honda (Ash), registered number SUL 173, Pontiac Vibe (Colored White), registered number SUL 516 SM.
“This action demonstrates the command’s firm commitment to protecting the lives and property of Kano State. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects stole Kefi’s vehicle in Nasarawa and they have since admitted they were involved in the theft.
“Inquiry is underway and the vehicle will be handed over to its legal owners. We assure the public that we are vigilant and committed to combating crime in all forms.
“We encourage everyone to continue to provide reliable information to police as they collaborate to ensure a safer environment for all.”
