Senior actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo dismissed the consequences claim with Peter Obi, highlighting his commitment to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 election.
He promised full support for the party’s presidential candidates (whoever appears) when he spoke on channel television.
“I will support anyone who wins the ADC election in the presidential primary,” he declared.
Kenneth Okonkwo also clarified his no resentment towards Peter Obi and pointed to their past collaboration in the 2023 elections under Labor before moving to the ADC.
“I have no personal problems with my brother Peter Obi,” he said, stressing that his decision to align with the ADC was based on principles and party loyalty, not personal disagreements.
“When they enter the primary, no matter who wins, they will be the base of support he will have in all regions, which will help him win the general election. Winning the general election doesn’t make you president. The most important thing is the general election.”
“There is no personal reason. I make it clear that Labour is the foundation of us; whatever happens to the party happens in our coalition.”
“I’ve told you that whoever wins the ADC presidential primary will support it. Yes. But I told you that if the level of gatherings are the foundation of our relationship, we know each other in the Labor Party. Obey is no longer there. So, make new arrangements and you have the right to decide what to do.”
