A Chicago housing official shocked a crucial meeting when she announced that she desperately needed SX. Francine Washington reportedly told other members of the Chicago Housing Administration (CHA) that she needed to “lie down.” A report from the Inspector General’s Office found that Washington had a “Sxally Graphic Dialogue” in front of other agency staff. According to Mail Online, she was “shocked” by the lawyer’s negative feelings about union representation and described her comments as from “White Privilege.” The report details how Matthew Brewer, the interim chairman of the CHA, met with the Commissioners concerned and was “committed to the Chairman, who will not engage in similar behavior in the future”. Washington said she remembers the brewer approaching her after the incident, but not the details of the conversation. She believes she was reported by the CHA’s human resources manager and she was frustrated that Washington has raised a lot of questions about the agency. “All board members know me,” Washington said. “I won’t change with the weather.” I love being a public housing resident, I love my resident and will not do anything that hurts the resident or authority. Washington was appointed to the Chicago Housing Commission Committee in June 2014. She is also chair of the Central Advisory Committee and the Washington Parks Local Advisory Committee and serves on many prominent boards. The report also found that the CHA did not formulate a sexual harassment policy and recommended drafting one. Brewer agrees with the recommendations, but also notes that over the past few years, the Commissioner has participated in annual ethical and sexual harassment training. The Chicago Housing Administration is committed to fostering a culture of respect and accountability to uphold all stakeholders, including our specialists and staff, to uphold ethical and professional standards. It added that it was unable to comment on personnel issues, but, “we take all allegations of misconduct seriously.” It was the first appearance on the Linda Ikeji blog after the female executive said she was desperate for SX, which was a key conference cheating.
