    Keyamo, Nimet workers conduct strike action at closed-door meeting

    Minister of Aviation and Aviation Development Festus Keyamo is currently in discussions with the amazing employees of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) in Abuja to address this situation.

    Naija News The strike that began at midnight on Tuesday almost paralyzes the industry after it repeatedly warned Nimet management of their failure to meet commitments aimed at solving various issues related to employee benefits.

    Air Peace services were suspended due to the strike, some airlines including Xejet, Aero contractors and IBOM AIR continued operations on Wednesday due to the strike.

    In a statement shared on its 𝕏 account, Air Peace announced its operation to be shut down until the strike was resolved.

    The statement was signed by Ejike Ndiulo, head of corporate communications at the airline, read“Aerial peace has suspended all flight operations nationwide until the end of the strike due to the ongoing Nimet strike and the unavailability of CNH (Hazardous Weather) reports required for safe landing.

    “Your safety is our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and will share updates as the situation develops.”

    The disruption became even more noticeable Thursday as passengers whose passengers were postponed waited for planes to get their planes to arrive at various terminals at Lagos Airport.

    In his X-handling tweet, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of the Civil Aviation Agency of Nigeria, Michael Michael, It was announced Thursday at around 1:30 p.m. that the Minister was meeting with staff.

    He said“Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aeronautics and Aerospace Development, is currently meeting with the striking union, DG NCAA, Captain Chris Najomo and other stakeholders to address these issues.”
