A man, Godwin Anuka, a suspected Fulani herder, was kidnapped with his wife and two children in Ubulu-uku, Delta State, in front of his wife and children, the kidnapper was kidnapped!
Harrison Gwamnishu, a senior special assistant to the governor of civil society and youth mobilization to Delta, revealed this in a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 2.
Gwamnishu said the kidnappers kidnapped two people on March 23 and brought them into the bush while demanding ransom. Two kidnapping victims were identified as Chibueze, a student of Delta State Polytechnic and Mr. Afam Soeze, who was picked up outside the gates of Ubulu-Uku.
Gwamishu revealed that although the abductors hid in the bush with two kidnapped victims, they saw Anuka with his wife and two underage children working on the farm.
Human rights activist Gwanishu said the abductors continued to abduct Anuka and his family, demanding ransom.
Gwamnishu said: “On March 29, 2025, his wife, Mr. Godwin Anuka, was kidnapped on a farm in Ubulu-uku, Delta State. These are the same five sets of kidnappers from Fulani armed forces who committed these heinous crimes.
“They kidnapped Chibueze from Ogwashi-uku, hiked to Ubulu-uku, kidnapped Mr. Afam. They hiked, crossed Isah Ogwashi/Ubulu-Uku Road to the power line and headed to the farm to Ani-uje ubulu-ku, where they once summoned Ani-uje ubulu-ku and started well trained, and started RANSOM.
“Where they camped, they saw Mr. Goldwin and his family and kidnapped everyone.”
He revealed that the local government chairman mobilized soldiers to carry out rescue operations, but after paying the ransom, the kidnapper released some of the kidnapped people, and it was revealed that Anuka was shot dead in the presence of his wife and children.
He wrote: “The Ubulu-uku Central Warning Team and the Nigerian army mobilized by Aniocha South LGA Chairman, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike and Ubulu-Uku Palace worked hard to rescue them.
“Yesterday, after a huge ransom, the kidnappers released Chibueze, Mr. Afam, the late Godwin’s wife and two children, and we were told that Mr. Godwin was shot to death in front of his wife and children on the farm.”
