
Police have launched an operation to rescue three family members who were kidnapped by gunmen in the Ukwuani local government area of Delta.
The victim, including two minors, was kidnapped from his home in Ebedei Ukwuole at around 4:00 pm on March 14, 2025.
According to the gathering, two unidentified armed men rushed into a peaceful residence of Emma and kidnapped two daughters, Chidimma Enuma, 14, and Rare Emma, 12, and her brother’s wife, Anwuri Okoye, 38.
The next morning, at about 7:30 am on March 15, the kidnapper contacted his family using Chidimma Enuma’s phone and asked for a ransom of 300 million N.
Umutu Division officials visited the scene and the anti-killing department has been warned.
A joint security operation involving vigilance, civilian anti-Caote agents, hunters and forest guards has been launched to track the suspects and ensure the release of the victims.
